Welcome to the Academy of Business Leadership Website!

At ABL, we train the future conscientious CEOs, entrepreneurs, and civic leaders of America and the world!

One of our hallmark programs for future leaders is our Summer Business Institute held on six college campuses of University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA); Loyola Marymount University (LMU); University of Southern California (USC); California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA); California State University, Fullerton (CSUF); and California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH). The application for the 2011 Summer Business Institute can be found above or by clicking here.

During SBI, participants are taught by talented MBAs from top universities. They also create business plans, invest a $100,000 fictitious stock portfolio, go on field trips to fortune 500 companies, create a personalized action plan, learn leadership skills and core values, and more. Students learn about life on a college campus from our college-aged site staff and from university administration. After SBI, students have the opportunity to apply for the year-long Building Outstanding Leaders Today (BOLT) advanced leadership program and the ABL Leadership Institute.

Our students get a 10-20 year head start on life. We are proud of our results: 100% of our scholars graduate from high school and a remarkable 98% of them pursue post-secondary education at colleges and universities across the US.  A 2010 survey of SBI alumni (seventh graders from 2004 up to seniors through 2010) revealed that 100% of them graduated from high school, and 100% of them are attending colleges and universities nationwide including elite ones such as Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Duke, Georgetown, George Washington, Harvard, Stanford, UC Berkeley, UCLA, USC, Yale, and others.  100% of our alumni say that ABL has made a dramatic difference in their lives, and 100% of them would recommend the program to their friends.  Our alumni can also be found at corporations such as Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Price WaterhouseCoopers, The Capital Group Companies, Inc., Warner Brothers, and others.

"ABL gives students a 10-20 year head start on their careers by teaching them how to identify, access, utilize, and leverage resources, and by providing them with access and exposure to civic and corporate leaders-the movers and shakers of our country. Youth are an untapped resource. Despite all the great work being done, there are still thousands of kids who believe they can’t reach their dreams. Therefore, we need to do more. We can not afford to leave anyone behind if we want to continue to prosper as a society and a country."

- Anna Ouroumian, ABL President & CEO

"ABL preaches a Forbesian message: Elbow grease and the right preparation can give anyone, no matter how disadvantaged their background, a shot at the emotional and financial riches of American capitalism. More importantly, ABL gives youngsters a first taste of what it is like to pursue a business career; it's a start at molding them into future employees and clients. The best benefit of ABL: For many, it is the first time anyone has cared enough to help them help themselves, to give them hope"
