About ABL

Facts and Figures

In 2008, 350 students from 146 middle and high schools and 76 school districts graduated from ABL’s SBI Program. Students in our program come from various socio-economic, ethnic and educational backgrounds and range in age from 10 to 19 which add to ABL’s rich culture of diversity.  Of these students:

  • 37% were Hispanic, 19% African American, 33% Asian-American, 8% Caucasian and 3% other.
  • 76% were high school students and in an increased effort to reach out to younger generations, 16% were middle school students, and 8% were elementary school students.
  • 9% were 12 years of age or younger, 8% were 13 years old, 9% were 14 years old, 17% were 15 years old, 27% were 16 years old, 22% were 17 years old, and 7% were 18 or 19 years old.
  • 3% had GPAs between 1.00 – 1.99, 8% had GPAs between 2.00 – 2.49, 12% had GPAs between 2.50-2.99, 26% had GPAs between 3.00-3.49, 32% had GPAs between 3.5-3.99, and 18% had GPAs of 4.00 or higher
  • 64% of students came from public schools, 12% came from private schools, and 24% came from charter schools.
