About ABL

Facts and Figures

In 2005, roughly 200 students from over 85 middle and high schools and 44 school districts graduated from ABL’s SBI Program. Of these students:

• 40% were Hispanic, 24% African-American, 27% Asian-American, 3% Caucasian and 7% other.
• 73% came from low-to-moderate income households and 36% were below the poverty line.
• 13% of these students were in the 12th grade, 36% in 11th the grade, 17% in the 10th grade, 15% in the 9th grade and 18% in the 8th grade and below. For the past 3 years, ABL has increasingly reached out to younger students in the hopes of affecting their lives earlier in order to have a bigger impact on their future.
